I really wish Canadians would stop going to the US. I just heard that last month top destination out of Toronto was NYC. Even with all the stories of Canadians being detained and mistreated thousands are still going there every day.

Why have so many people have been arrested in the US? This is crazy ridiculous.

This is purely due to an ownership change. The incoming majority owner Rogers (previously co-owner) didn’t like Masai. There were reports of some friction between them in prior years. He bought out the other co-owner last year and the deal finally closed this month. He’s keeping the rest of the management team but pushing Masai out.

It is strategic necessity for China for energy security and for their own environment. Their predominant source of electricity has been coal which they have abundant of but is polluting the air they breathe. Does anyone recall the issues they had at Beijing Olympics? They have insufficient sources of oil and gas domestically. Alternative energy sources are their best domestic source of energy.

This is interesting - the Chinese-backed People’s Liberation Army is now operating in the heartland of Burma - in the upper Burma, the Sagaing region which was the epicenter of the recent earthquake. Since its launch PLA has been operating in mountainous regions of Southern Burma along the borders with Thailand and away from the territories where other Chinese-backed militias operate.
